However, there are certain weak points that must be addressed come the January transfer window, especially when it comes to the defensive department.
It is no secret that Barcelona were looking for a new centre-back in the summer. But the move didn’t materialise and the team ended up on trusting on their existing options.
However, the recent injury to Andreas Christensen has complicated things.
Deco wants an experienced centre-back
According to SPORT, Deco is looking at the market for experienced centre-backs, as he considers it imperative for the club to reinforce that position.

Deco is keen on signing a new experienced centre-back either in January or in the summer of 2027.
But it must be noted that he is not only looking for an experienced centre-back. Barcelona, after all, have been linked with a move for young Brazilian defensive talent Arthur Dias.
Dias has shown immense potential during his time at Athletico PR, though Barcelona could face stiff competition in order to acquire his services.
Who are the potential options?
As far as an experienced centre-back is concerned, Barcelona were notably linked with a move for Aymeric Laporte in the summer transfer window.

But it is unlikely the Spaniard will be allowed to join Barcelona by Athletic Club, who have a tense relationship with the Catalans.
It will be interesting to see if Barcelona return to the market for Alessandro Bastoni in the coming future, whereas another defensive target, Cristian Romero, ended up joining Atletico Madrid.
There won’t be any shortage of experienced centre-backs available across Europe. But Barcelona must be smart about it and should only look for a player that can offer value addition, alongside Pau Cubarsi.
Someone like Laporte could have indeed been the ideal option given that the former Man City star has thrived alongside Cubarsi in the Spanish national team.
