Jordan Love reveals what Packers must fix to get running game back on track

Despite Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers escaping Week 2 with a 20-17 overtime win over the New York Jets, the Packers have not exactly looked dominant out of the gate. The rushing attack has been a particular concern with Josh Jacobs unavailable, but Love believes the issues on the ground can still be corrected and the Packers can get the running game back on track.
The Packers have struggled to establish its rushing attack through the first two weeks, with Jacobs still on the commissioner’s exempt list as he waits for a potential suspension.

In his absence, MarShawn Lloyd, Kaleb Johnson and Chris Brooks have handled the running back duties. The Packers produced 66 rushing yards in their Week 1 loss to Minnesota before managing just 63 against the Jets.

Jordan Love said Tuesday that getting the ground game going will require the entire team to make the necessary adjustments.
“In the run game, it’s all about us identifying who we’re blocking in the run game, being on the same page,” commented the Packers star quarterback via USA Today’s Ryan Wood.

There’s too many times during the game where we’ve got some unblocked guys, or we’re just not taking the right reads.”
Jordan Love does not believe Green Bay’s struggles on the ground are as serious as they may appear. The quarterback said the issues can be corrected and pushed back on the idea that the Packers have been completely ineffective running the ball. Although he admitted that losing Jacobs is a tough situation, Love still has faith in the running backs currently available to the team.

It is what it is. It sucks, but I’ve got confidence in those guys. But I think there’s a lot of stuff we can clean up and have some better runs.”
Love and the Packers will look to make progress in Week 3 when they face the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night.
