Stephen A. Smith debunks biggest Trinidad Chambliss concern after meeting him

Although it is still very early on in the college season, Trinidad Chambliss is establishing himself as arguably the best QB prospect around.
Ole Miss have started off their 2026 season 3-0, with an impressive win over LSU at the weekend.
Chambliss put up some impressive numbers on Saturday, having thrown for 363 yards and two touchdowns.
However, there are some people out there who remain skeptical about Chambliss’ size, which may be an issue when he’s drafted to the NFL.
Stephen A. Smith has met Chambliss in person and has been quick to shut down these worries.

Chambliss measures in at 6ft 1in and around 205lb, which is considerably taller than a QB like Bryce Young, who is currently enjoying success in the NFL.
However, there are still some people out there in the media who are concerned by Chambliss’ measurements. Smith is not one of those.
“I went down to Ole Miss last year to see them, and Trinidad Chambliss, I met him for the first time. He is not thin. That’s a thick brother. He’s not Bryce Young. He’s a big boy,” said Smith on First Take.
“Physically, the arm talent is there. He can throw the football as well.
“He is 6-2 against AP-ranked opponents as Ole Miss’s starting quarterback, including 3-2 against top 10 teams in his career. Over the three games this year, coming in with these expectations, he’s completing 70% of his passes: 924 yards (which is ninth in the nation), seven touchdowns, and just two interceptions, averaging 308 passing yards per game.”
Ever since Austin Simmons’ injury provided Chambliss with the opportunity as the starter at Ole Miss, the 24-year-old has shown signs of being the top QB in college football.
Chambliss is already showing the skills needed to stand a good chance of being a success in the NFL, but some still remain concerned about his size.
With no apparent ego to his game, Smith’s comments on Chambliss will only help the Ole Miss QB’s stock rise as the weeks go by.
