Game balls: Sarasota, Manatee high school football top Week 6 performers

Week 6 is over, and some district showdowns are in the books.
Venice rolled to a 57-33 win over Sarasota. Returning from a bye week, Wellen Park defeated Bayshore on the road. Palmetto shut out Parrish Community, earning its fifth straight win. And Riverview routed Lehigh 71-8, as Manatee escaped Sumner 30-27.

Here are the 10 standouts from Week 6:
Mike Blakely, Venice
Freshman receiver Mike Blakely, known as "Mike Mike," had nine catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns in Venice's 57-33 win over Sarasota.
Curtis Bowdre, Wellen Park
Bowdre, a sophomore running back, caught seven passes for 187 yards. He also played well on special teams.
Mykell Crawford, Sarasota
Crawford, a sophomore defensive lineman, caught an interception and had a sack in Sarasota's loss to Venice.
Ayden Guerra, North Port
Guerra — who played on both sides of the ball — had 7-yard touchdown, made a tackle in the end zone for safety and ran in a 2-point conversion to help North Port to a 33-21 win over Lakewood Ranch.
Jok Harris, Palmetto
Harris, an App State commit, rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown in Palmetto's 52-0 win over Parrish Community.
Connail Jackson, Cardinal Mooney
Jackson had 277 yards and five touchdowns in one half and one play in Mooney's 62-7 win over Braden River.
Dorien Jones, Venice
Jones, a three-star running senior back, didn't play for most of the second half, and still led Venice with 208 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. He helped Venice to a 57-33 win over Sarasota.
Steven LeBlanc, Saint Stephen's
LeBlanc completed six of his eight passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns, adding 12 rushing yards and two more scores in Saint Stephen's 62-0 win over Marco Island Academy.
Noah Wireman, Wellen Park
Wireman threw for 289 yards and had one touchdown, throwing a 64-yard pass to Curtis Bowdre. He also added 74 yards on the ground, scoring on a 7-yard rush.
Tait Zeltwanger, Sarasota Christian
Zeltwanger completed 15 of 37 passes for 324 yards and three TDs, and had six carries for 84 yards and a TD in Sarasota Christian's 41-21 win over Northside Christian.
