Caitlin Clark remained a fixture on the Indiana Fever’s injury report due to a back issue. The three-time All-Star has been listed as probable ahead of Game 1 against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.
Clark showing up on the report with the same designation has become a familiar sight this season. So when it happened again before the playoffs, WNBA fans had plenty to say.

WNBA Fans Brush Off Caitlin Clark Injury Concern, Fears Fever Are Headed for Quick Aces Exit
Clark has dealt with back trouble at different points this season. She missed a May 20 game against the Portland Fire because of the issue and later sat out more time after aggravating her back in June.
She has been a regular on Indiana’s injury report since then, often carrying a probable designation while still playing. Clark hasn’t missed a game since July 9 and has been available throughout the Fever’s run into the postseason.
Seeing “probable” next to her name again didn’t exactly set off alarm bells for everyone.
“We still doing this back gimmick,” a WNBA observer wrote.
“Yeah, Fever first round exits,” another WNBA observer added.
“I guess we’re doing this for the playoffs, too,” a Clark supporter remarked.
Many called the announcement a bluff, though. “Everyone knows CC is playing. Can we stop with the probable (expletive)?… Nothing will stop her from playing tomorrow,” a Milwaukee Bucks fan claimed.
“Seriously?” an X user commented.
Others were less interested in Clark’s back and more concerned about what awaits Indiana in Las Vegas: “1st team WNBA they say… more like 1st round (exit),” a YouTuber predicted.
“Lol. Getting swept,” an Army veteran continued.
Clark being probable isn’t the most concerning part of Indiana’s injury report, either.
Aliyah Boston is questionable with a right lower-leg injury after playing only 13 minutes in Thursday’s 86-66 loss to the Minnesota Lynx. She left in the second quarter and never returned.
Coach Stephanie White later said Boston experienced a flare-up of the same lower-leg problem she had dealt with earlier in the season.
Her availability could be particularly important against Las Vegas. Boston gives Indiana size inside against an Aces frontcourt led by A’ja Wilson, and losing its starting center would leave the Fever with another problem to solve before the series even gets going.
For all the online skepticism, Clark’s back remains something Indiana has monitored for months, so seeing her on the report isn’t unusual. Boston’s status carries more uncertainty heading into Sunday.
The jokes about Clark’s “probable” tag may continue, but Indiana would much rather have both All-Stars on the floor when the games start counting for considerably more.
