Torey Lovullo adds uncertainty to Diamondbacks future

SAN DIEGO — Manager Torey Lovullo met with the media after the Diamondbacks’ season came to an end on Sunday, Sept. 27.
His job security was a topic of conversation, and he seemed to imply that there is a scenario in which he wouldn’t return even if the club wanted him back.

“At this point, I don’t know where it’s at,” he said of his job status. “I have some decisions to make. I have some things to think about, as do the D-backs, and where it goes from here I don’t know.”
Though he said he loved Arizona and wanted to remain with the organization, he also added, “I want to win a world championship with this organization. But I want to be wanted.”
This was Lovullo's 10th season with the Diamondbacks. He is the longest-tenured manager in club history. He is not signed beyond this season.
