Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Vince Williams did not hold back on Patrick Queen. Williams thinks Queen is making some business decisions in Thursday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

“I’m a Queen fan but he’s making business decisions out there. He knows this is his last year with the Steelers and he’s playing safe,” Williams wrote on X.

It appears Williams is referring to the play below. Queen was hesitant to make a tackle on Browns running back Quinshon Judkins late in the first half. Deshaun Watson capped the drive with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Harold Fannin Jr. to give the Browns a 21-7 lead.

To say the least, Queen has had a rough game. He displayed poor effort on Jaleel McLaughlin’s 28-yard touchdown run in the first quarter as well.

Rounding into the last of his three-year contract, Queen’s future with the Steelers is uncertain, but Queen will worry about that bridge when they come to it.
“(There) was talks here and there, nothing crazy,” Queen said after an OTA’s practice in May. “Obviously, I’ve seen the whole charade that went on over this offseason, but (there’s) talks. Obviously, no movement, either way, and at the end of the day, they’ve got business to handle, I’ve got business to handle, and my business is to go out there and play the best football I can and put myself in a good position, put our team in a good position, so we can both can be successful.”
Queen stacked up 126 total tackles last season, second on the team only to Payton Wilson. Queen was linked to the Dallas Cowboys in trade rumors earlier this offseason, but Jerry Jones’ team wound up acquiring Dee Winters from the San Francisco 49ers.
“Some of it was true, some it was just extended truth,” Queen said. “Just people rambling and stuff. That’s what you’re gonna have with social media nowadays, everybody wants the first say-so of whatever happens and they wanna hope to be right. But (there) was very slim facts out there, and that’s all I’ll leave it at.”
Queen is making $10.83 million in base salary this season. He received a $2.5 million bonus on the third league day of 2026.
“I’ve got a good amount of money coming in this year, so at the end of the day I could care less,” Queen said. “If they do wanna extend, cool. If not, cool. … The better I play, the better we both can be, so at that end of the day, that’s all I care about.”
Queen signed a three-year, $41 million contract with the Steelers in March of 2024.
