Following the incident, a local police team reached the spot after being alerted. The area was cordoned off and an investigation into the shooting was initiated. The identities of the attackers and the motive behind the shooting have not yet been established.

As per reports, the attack is suspected to be linked to an earlier dispute involving Sandhu and Nihang jathedar Manpreet Singh Khalsa around three months ago.

During the dispute, members of the Nihang side had reportedly objected to Sandhu’s attire, social media activities and older videos. He was also warned against engaging in such content.

Sandhu had subsequently defended himself during the controversy, stating that he had made changes in his life and was no longer repeating his past mistakes. He had also alleged that his old videos were being circulated and that an unnecessary controversy was being created around them.
