Speaking at the "Hands Off Our Vote" in New York City on September 4, Ruffalo encouraged voters not to be put off by any potential disruption to voting this year, or be afraid of stepping up to defend voters' constitutional rights.
"They're going to try and stop us from taking our country back and we're not going to let them," Ruffalo began. "Trump, we're not letting you," he continued, before beginning a chant of "hands off our vote."
Ruffalo: Hands off our fucking vote. I’m gonna Hulk out. You won’t like me when I’m angry. Hey, I’m still here. They thought I was out for the count. I’m still here. I’m still playing the Hulk. https://t.co/5qyxUBPlWG

Ruffalo has long been outspoken on political affairs and environmental issues, and has most recently criticized Paramount for its merger with Warner Bros. Perhaps most notably, the actor has criticized the actions of George W. Bush in the Iraq War, and actions taken by the Israeli army against Palestine since 2014.
"Hands off our f***ing vote," Ruffalo continued. "I'm gonna Hulk out. You won't like me when I'm angry," he added, acknowledging that he had continued to speak out despite any potential risk to his own acting career.
"Hey, I'm still here. They thought I was out for the count. I'm still here. I'm still playing the Hulk. Don't be scared. They want to keep us afraid, their only weapon is our fear. But when we see people step out, we can get courage."
While Ruffalo's role as one of the MCU's most prominent characters has never publicly been called into question, Disney itself has taken flak over the years for political statements made by those it employs, or TV shows and movies it produces. The most prominent example of this in recent times was the temporary suspending of late night host Jimmy Kimmel, which resulted in a loud public backlash. Ruffalo, meanwhile, has previously said he's willing to sacrifice his Hollywood career to continue campaigning for the issues he believes in.
"Our time to brave is coming," he concluded. "They're going to do anything they can to keep us in our homes. They're going to do everything they can to make us feel small. They're going to do anything they can to make us feel lost, to make it feel inevitable. It's not inevitable. We're inevitable. The truth is inevitable."
Ruffalo is currently starring in two enormous Marvel blockbusters: the $2.5 billion-grossing Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the $2.9 billion-grossing Avengers: Endgame, which features a brand new post-credits scene featuring the Hulk.
