Love has become the first Packers quarterback since Rodgers to throw at least two passing touchdowns in each of his team’s first four games of a season. Rodgers accomplished the same feat in 2020, when he went on to win the NFL MVP award.

The 27-year-old quarterback continued his impressive start to the 2026 season on Sunday, completing 22 of 30 pass attempts for 197 yards and two touchdowns in Green Bay’s 17-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The win improved the Packers to 2-2 on the season and kept them within striking distance of a winning record. Love did throw an interception against Tampa Bay, but he also accomplished something he had not done in the first three games of the season: he avoided being sacked.

Through the opening four weeks, Love has now thrown for 1,041 yards and eight touchdowns. His consistent touchdown production has been a major bright spot for Green Bay as the young quarterback continues to establish himself as the leader of the Packers’ offense.

While it is still early in the season, matching a statistical mark last reached by Rodgers during an MVP campaign provides an encouraging sign for Love and the Packers.

Packers prepare for rivalry game

Green Bay will now turn its attention toward a crucial Week 5 matchup against the Chicago Bears. The Packers will host their division rivals next Sunday with an opportunity to move above .500 for the first time this season.

Love will be looking to extend his touchdown streak and help Green Bay build some momentum heading into the middle portion of the schedule.

The Packers have already shown they can win close games, and Love’s ability to consistently find the end zone has given the offense a reliable foundation. If he can maintain that production while limiting turnovers, Green Bay could quickly turn its 2-2 start into a much stronger record.

For now, Love has matched a feat last achieved by Rodgers in his MVP season—a milestone that should have Packers fans paying close attention to what comes next.
