Gibson is ranked as the No. 15 overall recruit in the 2027 class and is a high four-star prospect, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, an average of all three major recruiting media companies (Rivals, ESPN, 247Sports).
The Greensboro, North Carolina native becomes LSU’s second commitment in the 2027 class, joining four-star center Ahmad Hudson (No. 24 NATL), a dual-sport athlete who is also committed to play football for the Tigers.
Scouting Gibson
National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw has evaluated Gibson on many occasions. Here is what he’s written about him:
King Gibson has as sturdy frame and an ability to dribble, shoot, and pass to an advantage. He is also someone who started high school with a reputation and has continued to get better each year. Gibson was a play finisher this high school year, leading Spire (OH) Academy in scoring this season while shooting 45.6 percent from three. He took more on ball duties in EYBL play this summer. With quality positional size, he checks a lot of of the positional fluidity boxes we are seeing from guards in the playoffs. Gibson averaged 16.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists while shooting 39 percent from three.
