Top uncommitted prospects in the 2027 cycle
· Yahoo Sports
There hasn’t been an uncommitted top-100 prospect in the 2027 cycle — according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies — for multiple months.

Just two of the top 400 prospects in the cycle remain uncommitted, as of Oct. 6. The recruiting cycle moved unbelievably fast throughout the spring and summer, but that left hardly any meat on the bone for fall recruiting storylines.

That hasn’t stopped flip talks from surrounding the likes of Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Easton Royal and four-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, but with National Signing Day less than two months away, there aren’t many notable recruits in the nation who are uncommitted.
Rivals is taking a look at the highest-ranked uncommitted prospects in the 2027 cycle. Both blue-chippers are still yet to lock in a decision date and many of the top three-stars on the board have backed off commitments at some point this year.
4-star S Karon Eugene
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 340 NATL. (No. 29 S)
School:Westgate (La.)
Eugene’s recruitment has been quiet for months. Back in August ahead of football season, Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman reported that while LSU — which continues to trend in the Rivals RPM — was the team to beat early, options were set to be evaluated throughout the fall. Houston, Texas A&M and Ohio State are other programs that have previously been mentioned with Eugene.
4-star LB Trace Washington
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 387 NATL. (No. 33 LB)
School:Woodstock (Ga.)
Last month, Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong reported that Memphis was looking to land Washington, the No. 46 prospect in the Peach State. He plays with impressive speed and excels as a running back and LB at the high school level. Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Rutgers and Florida State are among the schools that have had Washington on campus this year.
3-star LB Gregory Batson
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 412 NATL. (No. 36 LB)
School:Lee County (Ga.)
Batson backed off a commitment to Florida State during official visit season in June. He’s coming off an official visit to Georgia State at the end of September. Mississippi State was a team eyeing Batson when he decommitted from FSU. The 6-foot, 210-pounder plays for one of the top high school football programs in the Southeast.
3-star RB Caden Waye
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 420 NATL. (No. 30 RB)
School:Ola (Ga.)
Waye is amidst an impressive senior season for Ola. He’s rushed for 711 yards and 13 touchdowns across seven games, per MaxPreps. The 5-foot-10.5, 205-pounder took an official visit to UCF in June and looked to be trending toward Orlando for a while, but his recruitment has been quiet since. Last fall, he visited the likes of Ole Miss, South Carolina and Ohio State.
3-star WR Ethan Kimmie
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 452 NATL. (No. 64 WR)
School:Zachary (La.)
Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman reported in August that Kimmie was eyeing an in-season decision and that Florida State was a school monitoring the 6-foot-3 pass-catcher. Kimmie picked up an offer from the Seminoles and impressed at a camp this summer. LSU, of course, is right down the road, while the likes of Arkansas, Kentucky, West Virginia and Syracuse have previously offered.
