• Game 3 of the ALDS will be Daniel Espino squaring off against Sean Newcomb
Dodgers 3, Braves 1
• The Dodgers moved a hurting superstar down to 5th in their order. Do the Guardians know this is an option?
• Said hurting superstar, Shohei Ohtani, was 0-for-2 and drew a walk.
• But the Dodgers didn’t need much because Yoshi Yamamoto was pitching, and it appears that some guys are just great this time of year, despite little scientific evidence of #clutch.
• Speaking of which, Freddie Freeman and Enrique Hernandez homered.
Padres 4, Brewers 3
• Facing elimination, the Padres held off the pesky Brewers to win 4-3 and force a game 4.
• Michael King, who has been unhittable this postseason, got a 2-inning save in this one…
• …because Mason Miller was with his wife who was in labor.
Odds and ends
• Entering today,
• The New England Patriots released linebacker Jose Ramirez.
• Tom Pham remains insanely unlikeable.
