Clement provided a wide-ranging fitness update ahead of Norwich’s clash with Swansea, with Ben Chrisene back available but Lucien Mahovo not yet ready to return.
“Mo had surgery and he will be out until January, around that period, so it’s a long time,” Clement said.
On McLean, he added: “Kenny will be out for a few more weeks.”
There was better news on Chrisene, who has returned to training.
“Ben will be back,” Clement said.
“He’s been back training now for a few days so he’s available for selection tomorrow. That’s one thing I can tell you about the selection.”
Diallo, however, is set for a further spell on the sidelines with an unusual muscular issue.
“Yeah, there’s an outcome, which is that he will be out for several more weeks,” Clement said.
“I don’t want to go into too much detail, but the specialist found that he had something around his muscles that not everyone has and he had an injury there.
“It’s something that doesn’t happen so much, so we need to treat it well now and after we believe that it can be finished and we can kick on with him.”
Clement also explained why several players had pulled out of international duty, pointing to the heavy workload Norwich faced before the break.
“We had nine games in four weeks so it’s been the busiest schedule that this club has ever had at the start of the season,” he said.
“Out of these nine games were six away games and not like away just round the corner but on the other side of the country, most of them.
“That cost a lot of energy clearly and a lot of players were, in the last moment of that spell, in a kind of overload, clearly, and they struggled with things.
“A few of them recovered now and will be available for Swansea and that’s a positive thing about this international period.”
Mahovo is one of those not yet ready to return.
“Yeah it’s a little bit too early still for him because he’s been out a long time, also last season, so we need to manage that really well,” Clement said.
“It looks like after the training session, Ben will be in the selection and Lucien not for this game and that we can train his physical condition tomorrow instead.”
