Hamilton man faces weapons charges; Peel cops seek possible victims of Mississauga law firm

The Burlington detachment of the OPP has charged a Hamilton man, 48, after weapons and ammunition were seized following a search during an alleged road rage incident investigation.

Cops say on April 15, the allege victim was driving near Nikola Tesla Blvd. and the QEW when their vehicle sustained multiple strikes on the passenger side from what appeared to be a BB gun pointed from the driver of the vehicle directly beside it.

An investigation was conducted by members of the Burlington Detachment supported by the Ontario Provincial Police – Highway Safety Division Criminal Investigations Unit.

A search warrant executed on Thursday at a Hamilton residence allegedly located eight pellet and BB guns, magazines and ammunition for both pellet and BB guns, and a prohibited weapon and all were seized.

Michael Capoferri is charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of weapon and mischief to property.

MISSISSAUGA LAW FIRM PROBE

Peel Regional Police are seeking the public’s help with an ongoing criminal investigation involving a Mississauga law firm.

Since July 2026, cops has received multiple complaints from members of the public and information from regulatory bodies regarding the conduct of lawyers operating under RSG Law.

As a result, investigators launched a criminal investigation into allegations of fraud and breach of trust.

The investigation remains ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.

Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who believes they may have suffered a financial loss or may have information relevant to the investigation.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Fraud Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3335.
