Central Railway has achieved a remarkable double triumph by winning back the prestigious Kaul Gold Cup 2025-26 and retaining the IRCC Running Shield 2025 this year.

Central Railway secured the Kaul Gold Cup 2025-26 with a record 1127 points, emerging as the best-performing Zonal Railway based on achievements at National and International level and performance in All India Railway Championships. Central Railway finished well ahead of Northern Railway, which secured 977 points. The achievement reflects the outstanding performance of Central Railway sportspersons in disciplines including Athletics, Shooting, Aquatics, Wrestling, Hockey and other sports.
The Kaul Gold Cup was proudly displayed by Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager, Central Railway, along with Anoop Kumar Agarwal, Additional General Manager and Principal Chief Electrical Engineer; Maninder Uppal, President, Central Railway Sports Association (CRSA) and Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer; Shashi Bhushan, Secretary, CRSA and Chief Freight and Traffic Manager, and other senior officers and CRSA officials at the Office of General Manager on 05.10.2026.
Central Railway demonstrated particular strength in Athletics, which contributed 193 points, followed by Shooting with 162 points, Aquatics with 123 points, and Wrestling with 96 points. Hockey contributed 77 points, while Weightlifting, Cycling, Cue Sports, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Football, Cricket, Boxing, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Bridge, Bodybuilding, Basketball, Powerlifting and Handball also added valuable points to the overall tally. These results underline the depth and breadth of sporting talent available across Central Railway.
Central Railway's sporting achievements were further highlighted by the performances of individual sportspersons. Keerthi Rangaswami topped the points-achiever list with 28 points in Cycling (Track), followed by Esha Waghmode with 24 points in Aquatic (Diving), Avantika Chahuan with 22 points in Aquatic (Swimming) and Payal Khatri with 19 points in Shooting.
The IRCC Running Shield 2025:
Adding another feather to its cap, the Central Railway Cultural Academy (CRCA) has been declared the Overall Winner of the Inter Railway Cultural Competition (IRCC) 2025 and has been awarded the prestigious IRCC Running Shield 2025 by the Railway Board.
With this achievement, Central Railway has become the second Railway after South East Central Railway (SECR) to win the coveted Cultural Shield for two consecutive years.
