United suffered a frustrating draw at Old Trafford after Spurs scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser.

The visitors created the better chances in the first half, but the Red Devils came out much improved after the interval.

Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock for United in the 71st minute before Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off for headbutting Luke Shaw.

However, Dominic Solanke headed Sandro Tonali’s brilliant cross into the back of the net to rescue a point for Spurs.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle, Neville said Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo should not be starting together in midfield.

He feels the midfield duo is not ‘dynamic’ enough.

Neville said: “I don’t want to be too drastic, but I’ve seen enough of it to think that’s not a midfield that is dynamic enough to play at this football club in the Premier League.

“I think they are both good players, by the way, individually, but sometimes you just have players who don’t quite knit together and don’t quite sort of suit each other.”

United have endured a disappointing start to the 2026-27 season under Michael Carrick.

They have picked up only six points from six games, winning one, drawing three and losing two.

Carrick’s position may not be under immediate threat, but fans are growing restless after their performances in recent matches.

United have no time to dwell on the latest disappointment against Spurs, as they will be travelling to Spain to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
