The Dallas Cowboys suffered an incredibly embarrassing loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. The Bucs had failed to win their first four games, but they managed to secure a 24-16 win at the AT&T Stadium, the Cowboys’ home arena.
Following the game, a clip went viral of quarterback Dak Prescott’s interaction in the tunnel with what was later revealed to be a third-party car service driver. The man called the Cowboys’ performance ’embarrassing’, with Dak then responding and seemingly alerting a security member regarding the interaction. Jason Whitlock had something to say about the situation.
Jason Whitlock wishes it had been Jerry Jones himself calling Dak Prescott out in the tunnel instead of a random worker
Speaking after the incident, Prescott revealed that his problem with the comment was not the criticism itself, but the fact that the man looked away once Dak heard what he said. There have been no updates on if there were any consequences for the man or if he was removed from the stadium after the star QB alerted security.
In any case, Jason Whitlock thinks that it should have been the Cowboys owner instead in that position, so Prescott wouldn’t be able to get away with trying to enact any consequences upon the man.
“People are trying to blow this up, and I’m not sure,” Whitlock said. “Dak, I think snitched on the guy and told security… Then this guy turns around and looks like he’s trying to hunt down who the guy was that said, ‘Embarrassing’. I wish he had walked back and Jerry Jones had been standing there and that was the person that yelled.”
While the way he went about it and who he was might be debated, there is no doubt that the driver was right about the Cowboys’ performance being embarrassing. If the team doesn’t bounce back from it quickly, Whitlock may just get his wish and Jones might be the one calling Prescott out next time.
