The Dallas Cowboys are 2-3 in the regular season, tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for second place in the NFC East, sitting a bit behind the 3-1-1 New York Giants.
Dak Prescott has been great this season, and the offense as a whole has been perfectly fine. But the big issue for Dallas has been their defense. Christian Parkers' defense has been incredibly disappointing.
Heading into Week 6, as Jerry Jones revealed on 105.3 The Fan, Parker is moving up to the booth to call plays for this defense, in the hopes that some positives will come from a new perspective on calling plays for this struggling defense.
Cowboys making intriguing Christian Parker change beginning in Week 6 vs. Packers
"Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones tells @BobbyBeltTX and @rjchoppy that Christian Parker is moving to the booth," 105.3 The Fan shared on Twitter/x.
When the Cowboys face the Packers on Sunday Night Football in Week 6, they'll have Parker in the coaches' booth calling plays for this Dallas defense.
The same week the Cowboys hired Mike Pettine to join the coaching staff to help Parker, the Cowboys are making a big change with where Parker operates on game day.
But will this change amount to much? There's a chance that Parker moving to the booth does actually make a meaningful difference, even if the defense still isn't great as a whole.

Their struggles this year can be ascribed to Daron Bland's regression, the struggles of some backups playing in place of injured starters, along with Caleb Downs not locking down the slot has led to Dallas's defense struggling a lot lately.
Parker's move to the booth won't fix those issues, but he might be able to see the game from a new perspective, raising the floor of this defense, even if only a little, with better play calls.
These mid-season moves from the booth, or down to the field sometimes, do actually amount to some big changes. But it's entirely possible this change for Parker doesn't mean much, and the Cowboys' defense continues to struggle.
This is a tough week to test it out, as Jordan Love and the Packers' passing attack can go toe-to-toe with any team in the NFL. But even if the Cowboys struggle and the move to the booth doesn't help, it's worth a try for this Cowboys defense.
