It took an extra period, but the Denver Broncos survived the Seattle Seahawks in overtime, 17-14, at Empower Field at Mile High on Thursday despite their rocky offense.

The Broncos improved to 4-2, while the Seahawks dropped to 3-3.

While they claimed the victory, Bo Nix was far from satisfied, pinpointing the facet they need to improve on, as reported by the Associated Press’ Arnie Melendrez Stapleton.

“I just think we’re really, for some reason, struggling to find those explosive plays, and that’s what makes an offense really spectacular: Finding explosive plays. Right now, we don’t have those,” said the third-year quarterback.

Nix went 17-of-27 for 107 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He had four carries for two yards.

JK Dobbins had 17 carries for 41 yards and a score. RJ Harvey also found the end zone.

The Broncos only had 168 yards on 57 plays.

Fortunately for them, the defense came to play, collecting 17 hits and five sacks on Sam Darnold, who went 27-of-51 for 278 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Coach Sean Payton recently took over play-calling duties, and Nix stressed that they can be more dynamic, while acknowledging the need to find the “disconnect.”

“I don’t know why we can’t really push the ball vertically right now. But defenses are just sitting back and hanging out,” added Nix.

“Hopefully we find a way to get more out of it.”

The Broncos will face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.
