Following a busy WrestleDream pay-per-view, AEW Dynamite returned to Miami, Florida, to follow up on the action with a night featuring a few surprise results and an in-ring debut.

Ilja Dragunov officially stepped into the ring as an AEW wrestler, facing Speedball Mike Bailey in the main event of Dynamite. The German-Russian star made his debut in front of fans at WrestleDream on Saturday, and shortly afterward, it was announced he would compete on the ensuing episode of Dynamite. His placement in the main event could be a sign of things to come.

Elsewhere on the card, Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland teamed up to face Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, while The Young Bucks competed against Mark Davis and Jake Doyle in an AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Match. Queen Aminata and Maya World also battled to become the No. 1 contender for the TBS Championship.

So how did these matches unfold in South Beach? Let’s take a look:

Wardlow, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle join the attack before Darby Allin, a returning Steven Borden and Nick Jackson make the save.
  • Borden grabs a microphone and announces that he’s back for Blood and Guts. With the show just two weeks away, it’s not hard to see where this is heading.

Prince Nana arrives with Swerve Strickland and The New Level, saying they want their titles back. Strickland demands a rematch, and Page tells him to name the time and place, suggesting Full Gear.
  • Strickland recalls their match at Full Gear 2023 and challenges Page to a Texas Deathmatch. Page agrees to a rematch, but not under that stipulation. Strickland responds, “We’ll see,” before walking away.
  • Nick Wayne arrives at Dynamite in a limousine and shows off his new T-shirt, which reads, “Nick Wayne Beat Chris Jericho.”
  • Renee Paquette welcomes Mercedes Mone to the ring. Mone says a broken nose didn’t stop her from defeating Willow Nightingale and Thekla. She mocks Thekla for thinking she’s on her level before ordering Paquette out of the ring.
  • Mone declares herself the most dominant and decorated woman in professional wrestling, adding that she doesn’t chase the spotlight because she is the spotlight. She asks who’s next to challenge her, prompting Marina Shafir to come out. Shafir tells Mone not to be a wimp, but Mone walks away.
  • AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley (c) def. Roderick Strong by submission. After the match, Clark Connors and David Finlay attack Strong until Moxley intervenes. As Moxley walks away, Connors and Finlay attack him from behind.

Gabe Kidd steps in to stop the brawl, but Connors and Finlay turn their attention to him. Jay White, Kyle O’Reilly and Orange Cassidy arrive to make the save, only for White to turn on Cassidy and O’Reilly. The rest of The Bang Bang Gang joins the attack.

Jericho acknowledges that Wayne knows more than he initially thought and has learned some lessons from him. Wayne continues demanding an apology and calls Jericho a “d*****bag,” prompting Jericho to admit he was once the same way at Wayne’s age.

Jericho apologizes for not recognizing Wayne’s talent sooner. He says Wayne could look back on this moment as a turning point in his career if he learns to listen to those with more experience. Jericho references several all-time wrestling greats he’s learned from and says Wayne has the potential to become a multi-time world champion and one of the greatest wrestlers ever. He ends by warning Wayne not to “f**k it up.”

Callis says they’ll use Blood and Guts to soften up the champions before taking their titles and collecting the money that comes with them. He also says he’ll be keeping an eye on Ilja Dragunov tonight.
  • Backstage, Samoa Joe appears with The Opps. Joe acknowledges that Clockwork Carnage didn’t go his way but points out that he still choked out Will Ospreay. He believes he’d be champion under any other circumstances and insists the world title belongs to him.

Jack Perry interrupts and suggests Joe didn’t beat him up enough in Paris before challenging him to another match. Joe responds that they’ll take care of business “very soon.”
