Okay, this one might need some time to really set in. Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky posted on X that Ohio State should be a potential landing spot for disgruntled Texas quarterback Arch Manning.

It is becoming increasingly unlikely that Manning will return to Texas after this season. Things have absolutely soured between him and his head coach, Steve Sarkisian, and truthfully, something needs to change in Austin. You can't run the same thing back that isn't working and expect it to change.
At Ohio State, there is a wave of growing belief that there will be a new quarterback in Columbus next year. This piece isn't to argue for or against that, it is just to say that if there were a change, Arch could be a target for the Buckeyes.
This would be one heck of a shift in feel for the player from the Buckeyes fanbase. Could you even believe it if the Buckeyes went out and got Manning? It would certainly shake some things up, but I think that it could make a little bit of sense.
If the Buckeyes are going to make a change at quarterback, they absolutely need to go big-game hunting to get the next guy. It's been four seasons since CJ Stroud went to the NFL four seasons ago, the Buckeyes have struggled to find a "guy" at the quarterback position.
Will Howard won the National Championship not because he has any elite traits, but because he has the heart of a lion, and thankfully, it was the first year of the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Those days need to end. Whether Ohio State finds a star in one of their young players that they are set to start this upcoming week, one of the incoming recruits, or hitting the transfer portal, the next guy needs to be a star.
Is that guy Arch Manning? Does he do anything from the quarterback position that should get anyone excited about his future?
I'm not sure that the answers to those questions are positive, but the name Manning is still Manning.
From Arch's perspective, playing for and being developed by Ryan Day and this Ohio State program could do him very well. We are just a few short months away from seeing how shaken up the landscape of college football will be next season.
