The Auburn transfer left Saturday’s 34-27 victory early in the third quarter after landing awkwardly while attempting a diving catch. Coleman finished with one reception for 12 yards and did not return.

Texas entered that game ranked No. 19, while Ole Miss held No. 7. His exit added another injury concern for an offense that also lost left tackle Trevor Goosby during the SEC matchup in Austin.

Horns247’s Chip Brown provided an update Monday on X, formerly Twitter, detailing Coleman’s participation in practice following the injury scare.

“I’m told #Texas #Longhorns’ WR Cam Coleman, who left the Ole Miss game holding his shoulder after landing awkwardly, practiced Monday without a green jersey and appeared to be fine.”

Texas typically uses green jerseys to identify players with contact restrictions, making Brown’s report an encouraging development after Coleman’s early exit.

The update describes his practice status, however, rather than an official announcement about his availability for Saturday’s game against Mississippi State.

Coleman leads the Longhorns with six receiving touchdowns through seven games. He has caught 21 passes for 348 yards, averaging 16.6 yards per reception as a target for quarterback Arch Manning.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian expressed concern about Coleman and Goosby after the Ole Miss game but did not provide specific injury details.

Goosby’s knee injury subsequently drew reports that he would miss the remainder of the season.

The Longhorns snapped a two-game losing streak with their win vs. the Rebels, improving to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play while climbing to No. 11 in the AP poll.

Texas hosts Mississippi State on Saturday as the Longhorns look to build on their win over Ole Miss. Coleman’s reported return to practice without a green jersey offers encouragement for an offense that counts on his production alongside Manning.
