Ranks 12-8

Goff’s Lions are playing the Vikings, who are the last undefeated team in the NFL. They also have the best defense in the league. Goff is normally higher on this list, but it’s only because of the Lions’ prolific offense that he’s even on the list this week at all.
11. Michael Penix Jr-Falcons:
When Penix returned to the lineup a few weeks ago, the Falcons looked like world-beaters, but then they lost back-to-back games, and it looked like we were witnessing the same old Falcons. But last week Penix took down the mighty 49ers, giving them their first loss of the season. Penix was an efficient 25 of 34 with three TDs. They are now 3-4 and look to get back to 500 in a divisional tilt with the Buccaneers.
10. Kirk Cousins-Raiders:
If I were to ask you who leads the league in TD passes, and gave you 10 guesses, you still wouldn’t guess Cousins. But he is. He’s thrown 16 TD passes with only five interceptions. He faces the Jets this week, who gave up 28pts to the formerly winless Dolphins. Cousins will put up over 30pts in this game.
9. Patrick Mahomes-Chiefs:
Mahomes has a tough road game this week, heading into Denver…after a tough road game in Seattle last week. That is a brutal two-week stretch. Last week was the first time in his career he didn’t get into the Red Zone. While this is another tough road matchup, it’s tough to expect Mahomes to put up back-to-back stinkers.
8. Kyler Murray-Vikings:
For all of the hoopla surrounding the Vikings’ start to the season, they’ve been doing it on one side of the ball. In six games, they’ve only given up 74pts, and Murray has basically been asked to be a game manager. he hasn’t needed to put up gaudy numbers. That changes this week against the Lions. To begin with, Detroit will score their pts… maybe not 35pts, but they will score in the 20s. And they are the worst-ranked defense in the league. Murray will be needed to win this game this week against the Lions.
Ranks 7-4
Oct 18, 2026; Inglewood, California, USA; Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (9) looks to pass in the fourth quarter against the Arizona Cardinals at SoFi Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Kiyoshi Mio-Imagn Images7. Matthew Stafford-Rams:
In a battle of LA, two teams are going in opposite directions. The Chargers are still winless, and that trend will continue this week against the Rams, looking to start a winning streak. Stafford has a two-to-one TD/INT ratio and leads all QBs in passing yards.
6. Jordan Love-Packers:
While Stafford is first in passing yds, Love is right behind him, only 31yds away, in second place. This is a huge matchup for Green Bay, facing a Panthers team that just gave up 43pts to the Buccaneers. This season, the Panthers have given up nearly 28pts per game…look for Love to capitalize on their lousy defense and get back into the winning column.
5. Joe Burrow-Bengals:
Statistically, Burrow is putting up his most efficient season. He’s always been accurate, but through six games his completion percentage is sitting at 71.7%, and he has thrown 15 TDs with only three interceptions. And last week against Baltimore, he made mincemeat out of their secondary in the second half, throwing four TDs…his second game in a row with four touchdowns. This week he faces a Tennessee team that has been scoring a few pts as of late…expect at least three more TDs from Burrow this week.
4. Josh Allen-Bills:
Allen has the most combined TDs of any QB, with 17. But if I told you the breakdown was eight rushing TDs with only nine passing TDs, you wouldn’t believe it. For a team with a 5-1 record and securely in first place in the AFC East, something is off with the Bills and Allen. But he is finding the endzone and putting up pts, which is what you want your QB to do. He faces the Ravens this week, who just gave up 35pts to the Bengals…in the second half. Allen will find the endzone at least three times this week, in some combination.

3. Dak Prescott-Cowboys:
Oct 26, 2026; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) takes the field for warm ups before the game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Mandatory Credit: Eric Hartline-Imagn Images Credit: IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect (Reuters)I swore off the Cowboys and Prescott last week…but as Michael Corleone said, “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” Granted, they only beat the JV Eagles team on Monday night, but a win is a win. Last week, in doing the RB article, I mentioned the best way to solve a passing issue is to run, run, run…and they did. Javonte Williams had 25 rushes (his first time with over 20), for 155yds. That freed up Prescott to get the ball to his playmakers. They face the Cardinals and their 29th-ranked passing defense. Prescott should carve them up.
2. Trevor Lawrence-Jaguars:
The Jaguars are coming off a bye and have two weeks to dwell on their 34-31 loss to the Texans. They will get back on the horse this week against the Colts. The Colts did show heart against the Vikings’ tough defense, but only managed 10pts. And the task doesn’t get much easier this week against the Jags’ D. Look for the Jaguars’ defense to give Lawrence great field position all day, with him taking advantage of it. For the season, he’s thrown 14 TDs and only had four interceptions.
1. Drake Maye-Patriots:
The Patriots are coming off a tough loss against the Bears Thursday night and entering their mini-bye week. They head to Miami, where it’s always a tough matchup. The Dolphins are coming off a win, and HC Mike Vrabel will not let the team forget it or fall into a trap as they look ahead to the Packers. Miami ranks 25th against the pass and allowed the Jets 25 points. Maye could throw three passing TDs and run one in as well. Maye has had two 300-yard games in his last three; this will be his first 400-yard game of the season.
