The Public is Heavily Favoring the Buckeyes This Weekend Against USC

· Yahoo Sports

We are 24 hours away from kickoff in one of the best games of the weekend between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the USC Trojans.

The storylines are vast as we get closer to kickoff, but one of the main ones is what the perception is publicly around this football game.

Each team has at least one negative trend heading into this one. For the Buckeyes, it's a big one, and it is an obvious one. The quarterback position is a major question mark heading into this game.

The Buckeyes are down Julian Sayin, and whoever assumes the role, as it is still a mystery at this point, will have their work cut out for them. In terms of tough environments for your first start, this one is definitely not the hardest, but it is certainly not the easiest one they could possibly have.

Going on the road is tough; doing it in Los Angeles is tougher; doing it in primetime in front of a sold-out LA Coliseum is really challenging.

Ohio State Bye Week: How Are the Buckeyes Going to Approach Life After Julian SayinWe are back on the Buckeye Breakdown Podcast on Ohio State's bye week. No action for the Buckeyes on Saturday, but it was the biggest week of their season as...

On the other side, the USC Trojans come into this game having put out an insanely horrific performance against the Wisconsin Badgers. They were beat up at the line of scrimmage; they couldn't stop turning the football over; they couldn't run it, and they couldn't protect Jayden Maiava. It was a disastrous performance, and for the Trojans, everything that happened against Wisconsin can be repeated by Ohio State.

The public has voiced what side that they are on and have done so in a major way. The line opened at Ohio State at -8.5, and as the week has gone on, it has moved down to a 6.5-point line in favor of the Buckeyes.

According to Draft Kings Sportsbook, 86 percent of the money is on Ohio State.

That is an insane one-sided direction, which signals two things to me. The first is that the public line is probably at two touchdowns. According to the weight of the bets at -6.5, i would guess that weight evens out at the 13.5-point line.

The other side of the coin is that Vegas is set for a major payday if this thing goes against the Buckeyes.

There are many things at play with this game on Saturday night, and as I envision it, I don't see a world where USC is able to keep it close. Vegas is set for either a massive hit or a major win, and it is all up to the Buckeyes.
