‘Sad’ – Angry Luka Doncic fan blames LeBron James for LA Lakers’ recent struggles

The Los Angeles Lakers kicked off the post-LeBron James era with a 3-0 start to the 2026-27 NBA season. This resulted in many calling out the King for holding the team back.
However, in the last three games, the Lakers have suffered two defeats, including their most recent loss at the NBA Cup against the struggling Golden State Warriors.
After the defeat, one Luka Doncic fan on X somehow found a way to blame James for the Lakers’ struggles in recent games.
Luka Doncic fan says LeBron James could’ve stayed with the LA Lakers
When James announced his decision to leave the Lakers, many Purple and Gold fans celebrated as if they won the NBA Championship.
The reason? Well, they believed that giving the keys to the franchise to Doncic would bring back the glory days for the Lakers.
But after just two defeats in their last three games, X user ‘Slo Hoops Fan,’ who is a massive Doncic fan, has pinned the Lakers’ struggles on James.
“I blame LeBron for the recent Lakers struggles. He could’ve stayed in LA and be a veteran leader to Reaves and the role players. Instead, he bolted to the East Coast to form a super team. Sad,” the fan wrote.
The Lakers didn’t lose because of James. Instead, they blew a 23-point lead and were terrible when Doncic sat on the bench against the Warriors.
Rather than pinning the blame on James, who helped the Philadelphia 76ers secure a stunning NBA Cup win over the New York Knicks, the Laker Nation should demand answers from head coach JJ Redick.
