The Las Vegas Raiders are currently preparing to hit the field to take on the lowly New York Jets on Sunday afternoon on the road. Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty made headlines this week when he called out the Jets’ players for not wanting to tackle ahead of the matchup, setting the stage for what could be some bad blood on the field on Sunday.

One person not on board with those comments is former Jets head coach and current ESPN analyst Rex Ryan.

“Is this kid a joke or what? Does he not look at the tape? Because when I look at the tape, I see that. I see DeMario Davis not losing a step, still playing at the top of his game. But you know what else I see? How about Mr. Tiptoe through the Tulips, avoiding contact? This guy’s soft as Charmin,” he said, per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team on X, formerly Twitter.

While Ryan has become known for making hyperbolic takes during his time at ESPN, it will still be a sentiment appreciated by Jets fans ahead of the matchup.

Making Jeanty’s comments all the more puzzling is the fact that he has not exactly had a great first half of the season so far, struggling to put up meaningful production as the Raiders have come crashing back to Earth after their hot start, now having lost four straight games.

Jeanty may have also provided the Jets’ defense with some unnecessary bulletin board material ahead of the game.

In any case, the Raiders and Jets are slated to get things kicked off on Sunday at 1:00 pm ET from the Meadowlands.
