That has led to a lot of praise from many big names in the game, but the boldest one may have just come from Turner.
Evan Turner says Cooper Flagg is better than Giannis Antetokounmpo
Flagg’s Mavericks and Antetokounmpo’s Heat faced each other recently, and the two players put on a show.
Both of them scored 29 points and recorded 11 assists for their respective sides, but Dallas edged the game by four points in the end.
Antetokounmpo is regarded by many as one of the best in the game, but Turner believes Flagg looked even better than him, despite being nearly half his age.
Speaking on the Open Floor NBA Talk show, the former 76ers guard said: “Hey, I was sceptical, bro, but Cooper… He could have had 40-something. He literally was getting his guys in like that. Hey, that’s a bad boy, bro.
“When I saw it, I said, man, he is better than Giannis. And Giannis is in old-school attack mode. And Cooper was on some chill ‘I know how to win’ type. Like, did you feel that? He was almost like: ‘Wait, I know how to win.’
“He literally turned it on, and he was going at Wiggins, then taking it into the paint on Giannis. Like, he was being nice that night. He should have had a 40-point triple. That boy is cold. He’s here.”
Turner concluded by saying: “It looked like, correct me if I’m wrong, it looked like he was hooping with his little bros. Like, it looked like he was hooping on a smaller rim.”
Flagg really is a superstar in the making, but he still has a lot to learn and achieve before he can be spoken about in the same breath as Antetokounmpo.
However, early signs really are positive, and Dallas Mavericks fans have every reason to be excited about their young prodigy.
