The Opposition has been raising concerns about how the voters were being deleted from the electoral rolls, alleging that 13 crore voters had been intentionally removed where the revision exercise has taken place.
At a rally in Hyderabad on Monday, Shah claimed that of the 13 crore names that had been deleted, more than 6.2 crore voters had been shifted, nearly three crore had died and over one crore were duplicate entries.
“Three crore votes were those who never existed,” Shah claimed. “These votes were those of Bangladeshi infiltrators…Tell me whether these votes should be cut or not?”
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader said that the exclusion of the three crore “infiltrators” was causing “stomach ache” for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
“The Congress party wants to capture elections through bogus voting,” Shah alleged.
