A family dispute over mobile gaming turned fatal in Surat, Gujarat, after a 22-year-old woman allegedly murdered her father following an argument over her phone. The accused, identified as Kajal, was arrested on Sunday night for allegedly killing Ramesh Chauhan, 55, after he smashed her mobile phone during a heated confrontation.
The incident reportedly took place at the family's residence in the Kosad area of Surat. According to the police complaint filed by her mother, Manju, the argument began over Kajal's habit of playing games on her phone while neglecting household chores.

Surat Murder Case: Argument Over Mobile Phone Turns Violent
According to the complaint, Ramesh Chauhan returned home from work on Sunday when his wife Manju reportedly complained that their daughter was spending excessive time playing mobile games and was not helping with household responsibilities.
Chauhan allegedly asked Kajal to put her phone aside and assist with the chores. However, when she refused to comply, he reportedly snatched the device and slammed it onto the ground, breaking it.

The incident allegedly enraged Kajal, leading to a violent confrontation between the father and daughter.
Woman Allegedly Attacks Father With Pressure Cooker Lid, Stabs Him
Police said Kajal allegedly picked up a pressure cooker lid from the kitchen counter and struck her father on the head. She subsequently attacked him with a knife, causing severe injuries.
Hearing his screams, Manju rushed to the kitchen, where she found Chauhan lying on the floor with blood coming from his head and abdomen.
He was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Following Manju's complaint, police registered a murder case and arrested Kajal late on Sunday night.

Police Confirm Arrest In Surat Father-Daughter Murder Case
Police Inspector J B Vanar confirmed Kajal's arrest and stated that the incident stemmed from a disagreement over mobile gaming.
“We arrested the accused, Kajal, late on Sunday night. A quarrel broke out between the father and the daughter over a petty issue of her playing games on the phone, and it led to the murder. Kajal’s father died a few years ago in Saurashtra, and her mother moved to Surat and married Ramesh Chauhan.”
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal altercation.
