What the Schedule now Looks Like for PSG

· Yahoo Sports

On Tuesday evening, PSG comfortably defeated Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, with a 3-0 win in SW6 on the night, and a thumping 8-2 victory over the two legs.

As a result of this win, and Liverpool overcoming their 1-0 first-leg deficit to beat Galatasaray 4-0 at Anfield on Wednesday, we now have a rematch of last year's round of 16 clash between the champions of France and England.

The first leg will once again take place in Paris, on Wednesday, the 8th of April. The second leg, in Liverpool, will be on Tuesday, the 14th of April.

So, what does the schedule now look like for Luis Enrique's side?

Before the break, the team will face Nice away from home, this Saturday evening, at 21:00 CET. After the break, Toulouse will visit the Parc Des Princes on Friday, the 3rd April, at 20:45.

Now, something to consider with that game is that there are international games taking place on Tuesday, the 31st of March. For example, Willian Pacho's Ecuador face Netherlands that evening. Kang-in Lee's South Korea will be playing Austria (both away), and Achraf Hakimi's Morocco will host Paraguay.

Furthermore, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Joao Neves' Portugal will face the USA on Wednesday, the 1st of April at 01:00 CET. To make things even tougher, that game will be taking place in the States. So the turnaround is even tighter. Likewise, for Marquinhos and Brazil, who face Croatia in the US, one hour later.

Anyway, back to the schedule. After the Toulouse game comes the aforementioned first leg at home to Liverpool, before a huge Ligue 1 clash at home to Lens that weekend, on the 11th of April at 17:00 CET.

It's handy that Pierre Sage's side dropped points last weekend, which means there's slightly less pressure on this game. But there is no doubt Enrique will have to manage the rotation very well, particularly if the ground is made up before then. It will be interesting to see if that game can be postponed, too.

Then comes the second leg, before a home game against Lyon on the weekend of the 17th-19th of April, date and kick-off time TBC. That will be followed by the rearranged clash at home to Nantes on Tuesday, the 22nd of April at 20:45 CET.

A trip to Angers on the weekend of the 24th-26th April then follows. The schedule after that depends on the Champions League progression, or otherwise. Should PSG get past Liverpool, the first leg against Bayern Munich or Real Madrid will be played on the 28th or 29th of April. It would again be at the Parc.

The subsequent weekend sees another home game, this time again with a date TBC. Again, should the team advance in the Champions League, the second leg, away from home, would take place on the 5th or 6th of May, before yet one more home game against Brest that weekend, date TBC.

Finally, for the domestic season, not quite a home game, but as close as possible, with the stone's throw trip to Paris FC on the last day of the Ligue 1 season. The game is set to take place on the 16th of May at 21:00 CET.

So, a very interesting and intense schedule, particularly if the team manages to navigate the tie with Liverpool. Let's see.
