Kalyan, April 3: A tragic road accident on Shahad Bridge claimed the life of a well-known physician, Dr. Somnath Patil, sending shockwaves across Kalyan’s medical community.

The incident occurred while Dr. Patil was on his way to his clinic in Mharal village on the Kalyan-Murbad Road.
According to police sources, Dr. Patil was riding his two-wheeler when a speeding tempo rammed into his bike from behind. The impact was severe, throwing him onto the road and causing critical head injuries.
Doctor declared dead on arrival
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Tempo driver arrested
The Mahatma Phule Police acted swiftly and arrested the tempo driver, identified as Bobby Chandan Juni, a resident of Ulhasnagar. The accused was produced before the Kalyan court, which remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
