Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): After Madhya Pradesh Assembly declared the seat of Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti vacant, PCC chief Jitu Patwari said that BJP has become a ‘cancer’ that is hollowing out democracy from within. 

He also said that the public must remove BJP from power in order to save democracy.

‘Narottam Mishra was never removed’

Speaking to the media, Patwari also highlighted the case of former Minister of Home Affairs of Madhya Pradesh and said, “Mai Madhya Pradesh vasiyon ko yaad dilana chahta hun ki Narotam Mishra ka upar paid news ka case isi Vidhan Sabha mein, isi vyavastha mein, isi court mein chal raha tha…unhone ek karyakal pura kiya, dusra kiya, or teesra haar gaye, tab tak koi nirnay nahi hua…(I want to remind the people of Madhya Pradesh that the paid news case against Narottam Mishra was running in the same Legislative Assembly, under the same system, in the same court… he completed one term, a second term, and lost the third, and yet no decision has been made.)”

He added, “Ye Nirmala Sapre, yahi Vidhan Sabha adhyaksh aadarniya Narendra Tomar ji, lagatar cases delay kar rahe hain uske, uske liye chakra rachte hain. Matlab apni party ke liye BJP ke liye apne samvaidhanik sapath ke sath apradh kar diya….(This Nirmala Sapre, the same Legislative Assembly Speaker, honorable Narendra Tomar ji, has been continuously delaying his cases, creating loopholes for him. In other words, they have violated their constitutional oath and committed a crime for the sake of their party, the BJP.)”

‘They protect BJP’s MLA’

He also accused the BJP of protecting party members and troubling Congress members. He said, “Ye vidhayakon ki raksha karne ke bajaye satta paksh ki vidhayakon ko bachenge, apradhi hai phir bhi, aur vipaksh ke vidhayakon ke sath atyachaar aur anyay karnge isliye kyun ki ye Congress ke hain….(Instead of protecting the public representatives, they will protect the ruling party’s legislators, even if they are criminals, and will commit oppression and injustice against opposition legislators simply because they belong to Congress.)”

Notably, Datia Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti was disqualified from holding the membership in the representative parties following his conviction in a bank fraud case by a special court in New Delhi.
