Previewing Colts defensive tackle position ahead of 2026 NFL draft

With the 2026 NFL draft near, we will be taking a position-by-position look at where things stand with the Indianapolis Colts.
The draft will take place from Apr. 23-25. The Colts have a modest seven draft picks at the moment, including just two in the top 100. GM Chris Ballard, however, has hinted strongly at wanting to gain additional capital. That, in part, could come from trading Kenny Moore.

What is the Colts' need at defensive tackle in the 2026 NFL draft?
With the additions that the Colts made at this position this offseason, adding to defensive tackle in the draft is no longer a need. However, the draft is also about planning ahead, and if we look to the 2027 offseason, none of the players currently on the roster are under contract. The prudent move for Ballard would be to begin preparing for that by making an addition -- or two -- now. But that may not be a luxury the Colts have with relatively limited draft capital.
