Vighnesh Murkar Honoured with District Youth Award

The prestigious District Youth Award for the year 2025–26 was conferred upon Vighnesh Umesh Murkar by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra State, Pune, along with the District Sports Officer Office, Mumbai City, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to youth welfare and social service.  The award was presented on 1st May 2026 at Niyojan Bhavan by Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister for Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Government of Maharashtra. The event was graced by Aanchal Goyal, District Collector, Mumbai City; Neelima Adsul, District Sports Officer, Mumbai City; along with officials including Anil Ghughe, Sahil Utekar, Fulchand Karad, and Neha Sapte.  Vighnesh Murkar is an A-Grade Ring Referee with the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation and has achieved remarkable success in the sport since an early age, winning over 150 medals at various levels. Beyond his sporting achievements, he has made significant contributions to society through the Gurukul Kruti Foundation Trust. He has actively organized free kickboxing and self-defense training camps, especially aimed at empowering women and youth across different communities.
