Top 6 QB prospects for the Steelers to watch for the 2027 NFL Draft

· Yahoo Sports

Like it or not, the clock is ticking for the Pittsburgh Steelers to sort out their future quarterback plans. Aaron Rodgers re-signed for 2026 but beyond that, there is nothing set. We are sure the staff are hopeful either Will Howard or Drew Allar show enough in 2026 to put the team's mind at ease and give them a guy who can transition into the starting job after Rodgers retires but this won't stop Pittsburgh from scouting the top options for the 2027 NFL Draft. Here are our six favorites for the Steelers, not necessarily the guys who would be the first six off the board once the draft rolls around.

1 - Dante Moore - Oregon

Moore was one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the country last season and we were shocked when he didn't declare. He was a near-lock to be the second quarterback off the board. He finds himself in the same boat this year but another season to develop just means he will be even better in 2026.

2 - Arch Manning - Texas

Manning was a victim of his last name when he came to Texas. Expectations were through the roof and he didn't deliver. But he came on strong in 2025 and looks poised to be the top quarterback off the board in 2027. His physical tools are off the charts and as he develops from the neck up, the better he will be.

3 - Jayden Maiava - USC

Our top option for the Steelers last season outside of the first round was Maiava, had he declared. He's sort of a bigger Dante Moore who lacks his consistency. He's another guy who could really fly up boards with a strong season.

4 - CJ Carr - Notre Dame

Carr is a fun quarterback to watch because he's not only got all the requisite physical tools, his football IQ is off the charts. A real sleeper guy

5 - LaNorris Sellers - South Carolina

We are giving Sellers another shot after a terrible 2025 season. He's a guy who looks like if you built a quarterback in a lab but he needs to put it all together this season.

6 - Sam Leavitt - Arizona State

Leavitt is one of the most exciting guys in college football and a nice blend of arm talent and athleticism. We want to see him be more consistent and improve his decision-making this season before we move him higher than the late second round.
