Per Pete Thamel of ESPN, Sorsby has tentatively scheduled a Pro Day for July 10 at Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas.
Word of Sorsby’s intent to declare for the league’s supplemental draft came on Tuesday night. The next step is for Sorsby’s lawyers to withdraw the court filing against the NCAA, which will again make him ineligible to play at the collegiate level.
Thamel notes Sorsby’s application for the supplemental draft is likely to become official in the next 24 hours.
At this point, it’s unclear what interest there will be for Sorsby’s services among the league’s 32 teams if he’s ruled eligible for the supplemental draft. Browns head coach Todd Monken noted that he would not be in favor of adding Sorsby to Cleveland’s QBs room, calling Sorsby’s situation a “slippery slope.”
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn also told reporters that he’s “focused on the guys that we have here now” when asked about Sorsby on Tuesday.
