The Jaylen Brown era in Boston is officially over.
On Wednesday evening, the Celtics shipped the 2024 NBA Finals MVP to the 76ers in exchange for Paul George and a package of future draft picks, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Brown was reportedly included in a trade offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo before the former Buck landed in Miami, but the Celtics seemed determined to move Brown during the offseason even after they failed to acquire the two-time NBA MVP.
In his final season with Boston, Brown flourished as a No. 1 option with Jayson Tatum recovering from an Achilles injury, averaging 28.7 points per game and earning a spot on the All-NBA Second Team. Now, he will play for one of the Celtics' biggest Eastern Conference rivals.
