Norwegian crown prince rows with thousands after World Cup win

Crown prince Haakan left the royal palace to celebrate and row with tens of thousands of Norwegians after the national team's epic World Cup triumph over record champions Brazil.
Norwegians crowded the streets after the final whistle in New Jersey, with police estimating that around 100,000 celebrated the 2-1 victory from Erling Haaland's brace.

The delirious fans celebrated at Palace Square and Haakan joined them for the now famous rowing routine in reference to their Viking ancestors.
Haakan's children, princess Ingrid Alexandra and prince Sverre Magnus, were present in East Rutherford as Norway reached the quarter-finals of the global event for the first time.
A royal family video showed them hugging a bare-chested Haaland in the dressing room and chatting with goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland who made a series of top saves, including a penalty.
"That is the craziest night, yes, maybe in the entire Norwegian history," Haaland told Norwegian broadcasters NRK.
