Ohio State has been hitting home runs in recruiting as of late, but there's one huge fish out there the Buckeyes are still hoping to land, and we'll know pretty soon. Five-star 2027 running back David Gabriel Georges is down to two schools, the Buckeyes and Tennessee, and he's officially visited both, it's now just down to where he decides he wants to go.

And ... if reports are correct from Rivals Steve Wiltfong, the Chattanooga native has his mind made up and is just waiting for his announcement date to let the world know where he'll be attending college and looking to develop his skills for a potential high NFL draft pick. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Gabriel Georges is ranked as the No. 2 running back and tenth overall prospect in the 2027 class. He could eventually be considered the top running back when the ratings are completed.

It appears to be a tight race between Ohio State and Tennessee. If you believe the reports out there, the Vols have pushed in a pile of chips with a significant NIL package that may not be what the Buckeyes are offering. Whether or not OSU closes that rumored gap remains to be seen, so it's going to come down to the combination of the money and the future development for Gabriel Georges, and if he wants to stay in his home state.

Gabriel Georges has had some industry predictions logged to Ohio State and none to Tennessee, but those don't mean as much as they used to - especially in today's NIL universe, one in which Gabriel Georges may be commanded close to $1 million.

We'll all have to see how it pans out, but getting the 6-foot, 205-pounder that projects as a multiple-year starter and eventual high NFL draft pick would be a big deal for Ohio State, and the class it is putting together. We won't have to wait long, because Gabriel Georges is set to announce his decision on July 22.
