Red Sox lineup: Anthony Seigler remains in leadoff spot with series sweep on the line

· Yahoo Sports

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Wrapping up their series here, the Red Sox have a chance to accomplish two things Sunday night: a second straight weekend sweep (they took four in a row at home vs. the Yankees last weekend) and their first series sweep in Anaheim since April of 2018.

The Red Sox, off to a 2-0 start on their current three-city, nine-game road swing, have overall won seven of their last nine and 10 of their last 15 since June 19.

Boston is now a game over .500 (22-21), tying them for the second-best away from home record in the American League. That includes a current stretch in which they’ve won 15 of their last 25 road games.

For Sunday night, the Red Sox will send recently-named All-Star Ranger Suarez to the mound. The Sox starting rotation has recorded quality starts in 14 of the last 16 tries, with 2.20 ERA in that span. The Sox are currently tied for third in the majors in quality starts with 39. Only the Dodgers (50) and Mariners (42) have accrued more.

Anthony Seigler, for the second night in a row, is in the leadoff spot. He reached base three times Saturday night and scored twice.

With a righty going for the Angels, the Red Sox are using Masataka Yoshida in the DH role. Tsung-Che Cheng is back at shortstop after Andruw Monasterio manned the position in each of the first two games in the series.
