Erling Haaland is of course leading Norway's charge with seven goals at his first World Cup and after a 28-year absence from the tournament, the Scandinavians have reached the final eight of a men's World Cup for the first time in their history. They deservedly beat Brazil 2-1 in the last 16 and even if some of the Norwegian players, including Haaland, seemed a little shocked by what they achieved they are worthy quarterfinalists and will push England all the way.

As for England, Thomas Tuchel's side are the slight favorites to win this game but the Three Lions won't be taking anything for granted. Their epic 3-2 win against Mexico in the last 16 at the Azteca saw England dig incredibly deep and there seems to be a lovely togetherness about their squad. Estimations say that over 30,000 England fans are in Miami so this will be like a home game for them, even with the mighty Norwegian row.

Norway team news, focus

The Norwegians will keep it very simple and go with a 4-4-2 or 4-1-4-1 formation which is flexible during games. Haaland is obviously the x-factor up top but Arsenal's Martin Odegaard is having a fine tournament dictating things in midfield as Norway's captain. Out wide Stale Solbakken has been getting it spot on with his decisions as Andreas Schjelderup and Antonio Nusa have stepped up at different times with key assists and goals. Nusa is on a yellow card so has to watch himself in this game and there are so many Premier League players in this Norway side so they know the England players extremely well.

England team news, focus

Four England players are on yellow cards and if they get booked in this game they will be suspended for the potential semifinal, as Declan Rice, Nico O'Reilly, Jude Bellingham and Marc Guehi are all key players and will be walking a tightrope. Tuchel has a big decision to make at right back with Jarell Quansah suspended and Reece James recovering from injury, so John Stones may start there. Harry Kane and Bellingham are standing tall and making the difference for the Three Lions in attack and they will buzz around and link up whenever they can.

Norway vs England prediction

This is going to be really tight and will probably come down to which of the marquee strikers is more clinical, Haaland or Kane. England seem to be getting better as the tournament goes on and have just a few more options to change the game if needed. Norway 1-2 England.
