Cincinnati Bengals will 'Open in Orange' for third consecutive season

The Cincinnati Bengals are announcing their theme games for the 2026 NFL season this week.

Theme week began with an expected one as the Bengals announced they'll "Open in Orange" in the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Sept. 13.

This will be the third consecutive season the Bengals have used the theme for their home opener. The first two were painful for different reasons.

In 2024, the Bengals introduced the orange-out crowd for their season opener against the lowly New England Patriots. The heavily favored Bengals managed just 224 total yards, turned the ball over twice and lost to the Jacoby Brissett-led underdogs, 16-10.

The Patriots would go on to lose their next six games and finished the year 4-13. The Bengals found their groove late but missed out on an AFC Wild Card by one game.

Last year's orange-clad crowd saw quarterback Joe Burrow suffer a turf toe injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars that would sideline him for more than two months.

The Bengals did, however, rally to beat Jacksonville with backup quarterback Jake Browning leading a game-winning 92-yard touchdown drive in the final seconds.

The Bengals are expected to also announce "Stripe The Jungle" and "White Bengal" matchups for the 2026 season this week.
