6 Steelers players projected to have first-round trade value

· Yahoo Sports

ESPN recently set out to find every NFL talent that carries first-round trade value, and when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, there are six players who fit the bill.

According to Bill Barnwell of ESPN, the six Steelers who carry first-round trade value are as follows: defensive lineman Keeanu Benton, offensive tackle Troy Fautanu, center Zach Frazier, defensive lineman Derrick Harmon, edge rusher Nick Herbig, and cornerback Joey Porter Jr.

Of these six players, only two are heading into 2026 on the final year of their contracts: Benton and Porter, two standout defenders from the Steelers' 2023 NFL Draft class. But it's still more likely the Steelers will attempt to work out long-term extensions than pursue potential trades, especially in Porter's case.

While some may argue Barnwell was a bit too generous with the first-round trade grades for Benton and Herbig, it shows that although the Steelers' roster is among the ten-oldest teams in the league, there are many young players ready to lead Pittsburgh when they're called to step up to the plate.
