Ravi Shastri and Eoin Morgan pick all-time India-England combined ODI XI

Ravi Shastri and Eoin Morgan, who are part of Sky Sports' broadcast team at the Hundred 2026, recently sat together to pick an all-time India and England combined ODI XI.

India, who have won the ODI World Cup twice and reached the final two times, have the lion's share of players in the lineup, while England, who won their first-ever world title in 2019, have three players from that title-winning team.

Big names miss out

Big names like Joe Root, Chris Woakes, and Jofra Archer have missed out on the team despite playing a key role in England's historic World Cup win in 2019 on home soil. Morgan, who led England to their first and only ODI World Cup title thus far, did not pick himself in the team.

Among Indian stars, iconic former opener Virender Sehwag has missed out despite playing an important role in India winning the 2011 ODI World Cup. Former captain Sourav Ganguly, one of the finest limited-overs cricketers India has ever produced, has also missed out, while 1983 hero Mohinder Amarnath also did make the cut.

Overall, when it comes to picking an all-time best XI from talented teams like India and England, some big names are bound to miss out. On paper, Shastri and Morgan have chosen a squad full of champions, who deserve their slots without any scope of debate.
