The Bears continue to be busy adding defensive backs to their roster.

They announced the signing of Beanie Bishop on Sunday. They have also signed Xavier Woods, Brandon Hill, and William Wright over the last few days.

All of the moves come after the Bears saw safety Coby Bryant go down with a knee injury that will keep him out for an extended period of time. Cam Lewis left Saturday's practice with an injury and the Bears have not had Kyler Gordon or Elijah Hicks on the field at all this summer.

Bishop made the Steelers as an undrafted rookie in 2024 and appeared in every game. He finished the season with 45 tackles, four interceptions, a half-sack and a fumble recovery, but was limited to the practice squad in Pittsburgh and New Orleans last season.

The NFL suspended Bishop for the first three games of the 2026 season in March, so he won't be able to help the Bears patch any early season holes in the secondary.

The Bears waived long snapper Luke Elkin in a corresponding move.
