Mumbai: The Oshiwara police’s cyber team on Monday recovered filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s hacked X account, days after he complained that he had lost access to it.

The police traced the account history and verified Mishra’s identity, focusing on the 12:53am breach and an unauthorised email change from [email protected] to [email protected]. The team then coordinated with X’s backend processes to reverse the changes.

Mishra, a three-time National Award winner, had earlier said X support rejected his recovery request as it could not validate that the account belonged to him.

In his complaint, Mishra said he was suddenly logged out. X notifications showed an unauthorised iPhone login around 12:53am, after which a security key was added and his registered email address was changed.
