Watch 2027 4-star DL and Texas A&M commit dominate in the trenches

Texas A&M's No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class features plenty of elite talent, especially among the nation's highest six five-star commits, including OT Mark Matthews, safety Kamarui Dorsey, and cornerback Raylaun Henry, who are nationally considered first-year contributors with high NFL upside. In the trenches, four-star defensive lineman Elijah Patmon deserves more attention based on what we witnessed during the first senior-season game on Friday.

One of the Aggies' early commits in the 2027 cycle, Patmon's stats during his last two seasons at Northside (GA) don't jump of the page, but his potential as one of the to interior pass rushers was on full display during Friday's 42-6 victory over Eagle's Landing, as the blue-chip DL consistently made his way into the backfield on nearly every snap, while also playing left guard and excelling as a run blocker.

At 6'4" and nearly 300 pounds, Patmon recorded 71 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks during his last two seasons, and is already an established run defender with a nose for the football, looking unblockable during Friday's win. While this is a small sample size, TexAgs insider Ryan Brauninger believes that Patmon is the "most underrated player" in Texas A&M's 2027 class.

We'll keep an eye on Patmon's progress during his final high school season, but for now, enjoy over three minutes of tape from Friday's game. Before signing with the Aggies in early December, Patmon is currently positioned as 247Sports' 22nd-ranked defensive lineman and the 17th-ranked prospect in talent-rich Georgia, where Texas A&M has dominated recruiting over the past two cycles.
