The New York Giants had another disappointing season in 2025.
They finished with a 4-13 record and last in the NFC East for the second straight season. They fired head coach Brian Daboll during the season and replaced him with long-time Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh has a winning track record and brings veteran leadership to a young Giants team looking to turn things around in 2026.

The young core is led by second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart showed a lot of promise as a rookie, and New York is hoping he can take a major step forward in his second season.
In the offseason, they added more pass-catching weapons alongside star receiver Malik Nabers. Big Blue also added several pieces on defense to help address one of its biggest weaknesses from last season, particularly against the run.
There is plenty of optimism surrounding the Giants heading into the 2026 season. The roster has more talent, while Harbaugh and his coaching staff will look to get the most out of a young team. New York’s success this season is largely dependent on Dart’s development. If he makes that leap in Year Two, Big Blue could find itself competing for a playoff spot.
Harbaugh has already made it clear that he expects to compete for and make the playoffs this season. However, getting there will not be easy with a competitive NFC East and some of the difficult opponents on their schedule. With that in mind, here is how New York’s 2026 schedule could unfold.
Week 1: Giants vs Cowboys
The Giants kick off the John Harbaugh era with a primetime matchup against their division rival, the Dallas Cowboys. These teams met on Sunday Night Football in Week 1 of the 2023 season. Dallas won that game in a complete blowout by a score of 40-0. The Giants should make this game a more competitive match.
The Cowboys had one of the worst defenses in the league last season. They signed a lot of free agents on defense, and their two first round picks were used on defenders as well. That unit should be improved on paper. Their offense is already one of the most explosive in the NFL, led by Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens.
For the Giants, this will be the first regular-season game with the new offensive and defensive schemes. Dart and the offense should be able to take advantage of Dallas’ defensive weaknesses. However, New York’s defense could have a tough time slowing down this Cowboys offense. New York will put up enough points to stay in the game, but Dallas’ offensive firepower gives them the edge.

Week 2: Giants vs Rams
It doesn’t get any easier for the Giants in Week 2. They travel to LA to face the Rams on Monday Night Football. The Rams are the current Super Bowl favorites and have arguably the most talented roster in the league. They traded for star cornerback Trent McDuffie and the best pass rusher in the NFL, Myles Garrett. Also, one of the best defensive linemen of all-time, Aaron Donald, just came out of retirement to come back to the team.
The Rams are loaded, and talent wins out in this league. LA’s pass rush will be too much for the Giants’ offensive line to handle. So will their offense, captained by reigning league MVPMatthew Stafford. He has plenty of weapons at his disposal, like Kyren Williams,Puka Nacua, and Davante Adams. They will be tough for this young but unproven Giants secondary. New York fought hard against good teams last season, but this Rams team should be a complete juggernaut.
Prediction: Rams 28, Giants 20

Week 3: Giants vs Titans
This is where the Giants’ schedule lightens up. They come back home to take on the Tennessee Titans, who won just three games last season. This will be the return of Brian Daboll, who is the new offensive coordinator for Tennessee. It is also the return of a few former Giants who signed with the Titans in the offseason. That list includes Wan’Dale Robinson, Cordale Flott, and Daniel Bellinger.
Like the Giants, Tennessee has a young quarterback in Cam Ward. He struggled a lot as a rookie with a lack of weapons around him and a poor offensive line. PFF ranked their offensive line 23rd after last season and has them ranked 29th heading into this season. New York’s pass rush should be able to put pressure on Ward and force him to make mistakes.
The Giants offense should start to click, facing a Titans defense that gave up the fifth most points per game in 2025. It will be a bounce-back performance after struggling against the stingy Rams defense the week prior. New York handles business, and John Harbaugh gets his first win as the Giants coach.

Week 4: Giants vs Cardinals
The Giants remain at home in Week 4 to play the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are projected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Vegas has their win total at just four and a half, tying them with the Dolphins for the lowest.
The Cardinals do have some playmakers on offense. Jeremiyah Love, Trey McBride, and Marvin Harrison Jr. are a formidable trio. However, the quarterback position is a question mark for them. Jacoby Brissett will begin the year as the starter, but rookie Carson Beck could take over at some point. Whoever is under center for them shouldn’t give the Giants’ defense many problems.
Like the Titans, the Cardinals also had a poor offensive line last season. The Giants’ defensive line can force quick passes from the Cardinals and prevent Arizona’s playmakers from getting open downfield. If the run defense also improves, they can contain Jeremiyah Love from having any long runs.
The Cardinals defense should be very beatable as well. They gave up the fourth-most points per game last season. Arizona also surrendered 126.9 rushing yards per game and 230.8 passing yards per game. It could be a huge game for second-year running back Cam Skattebo on the ground as well as for Dart and the receivers through the air. The Giants will win their second in a row to get to .500.

Week 5: Giants vs Commanders
After two straight home wins, the Giants hit the road to take on the Washington Commanders. Washington won both games last season, so New York will look to change that in 2026. In 2024, the Commanders reached the NFC Championship Game on the back of star rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. They look like a team on the rise after that magical playoff run.
However, 2025 was a very disappointing year for them. Daniels was limited to just seven games due to injuries, and their defense was one of the worst in the league last season. Daniels is coming into this season healthy, but his offensive line is not.
Veteran left tackle Laremy Tunsil tore his triceps during training camp. He is expected to miss most, if not the entire season. That could force Daniels to be running for his life in his matchup. The key will be to contain Daniels in the pocket and prevent him from scrambling for long runs. New York improved their front seven with Tremaine Edmunds and first-round pick Arvell Reese. Those two can help prevent any chunk plays Daniels could create with his legs.
Washington did sign a lot of free agents and draft picks on defense. However, it might take them some time early in the season to gain chemistry. This could be another big day for Dart and the Giants offense. They will keep the early-season momentum going and have a winning record after five games.
Prediction: Giants 28, Commanders 23

Week 6: Giants vs Saints
The Giants will be riding high going into the Week 6 matchup with the Saints. These teams met in New Orleans in Week 5 of last season. The Saints took that game by a score of 26-14. New Orleans heads into this season with a lot of optimism.
They went 6-11 in 2025, but finished the year very strong. The Saints won four of their final five games. Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough had some great performances at the end of the year. He is looking to build on that success in 2026. New Orleans helped him in the offseason by signing running back Travis Etienne and drafting wide receiver Jordyn Tyson in the first round.
Tyson injured his hamstring during training camp, so he may not be available for this game. Therefore, New York’s defense can key in on containing Etienne on the ground and number one receiver Chris Olave.
In last year’s matchup, the Giants had five turnovers. As long as they can protect the football, they should be able to move the ball and score enough against the New Orleans defense. New York will keep the momentum going and win their fourth in a row.

Week 7: Giants vs Texans
The Giants are feeling good going into Week 7, coming off a four-game win streak. This is when the schedule gets tough once again. They travel to Houston to face the Texans. Houston won 12 games last season and had one of, if not the best, defenses in the league. They allowed just 17.4 points per game and the fewest total yards per game.
They return most of their starters, so that unit should be at the top of the league once again. It will be one of Dart’s most difficult assignments he’s had in his young career. Led by Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, the Texans’ d-line can overwhelm New York’s offensive line and force Dart into making mistakes.
Houston’s offense isn’t the most explosive, but they won’t need to score a lot with how dominant that defense is. As long as CJ Stroud can protect the ball and be a solid game manager, the Texans will prevail.
Prediction: Texans 23, Giants 17
Record: 4-3
Week 8: Bye Week
The bye week comes at a good time after that tough loss to the Texans. A 4-3 record would be a great start to John Harbaugh’s tenure in New York. It would validate the optimism surrounding this team coming into the season. The week off will be important for injured players to recover and for the team to prepare for the second half of the season.
At 4-3, Big Blue could find themselves competing for a playoff spot by the end of the year. The final stretch will determine whether they get into the postseason or just miss out.

Week 9: Giants vs Eagles
Following the bye, the Giants travel to Philadelphia to take on one of their biggest rivals, the Eagles. They haven’t beaten the Eagles in their home stadium since 2013. It is hard to see that trend changing in 2026. Philly has won the division in back-to-back seasons and has one of the most talented rosters in the NFC.
The key to this matchup will be containing star running back Saquon Barkley. In last year’s Week 8 clash, Barkley scored a 65-yard touchdown on the Eagles’ opening drive. New York was one of the worst teams at stopping the run in 2025. If that doesn’t improve at all, it will be a long day for the defense.
On the other side of the ball, Philly boasts one of the league’s elite defenses. They allowed the fifth-fewest points per game a season ago. Most of their core pieces remain, so that unit should be near the top once again. Their interior defensive line, with Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, could give the Giants’ offensive line problems and prevent them from getting their run game going. That would force Dart into obvious passing situations and make it easier for Philly’s defense.
The Giants have improved their roster, but Philly’s top-end talent will be too much to overcome. Big Blue will have to wait another year to get a win at Lincoln Financial Field.
Prediction: Eagles 30, Giants 23

Week 10: Giants vs Commanders
After back-to-back road losses, the Giants return for their second matchup against the Commanders. This time it is on primetime Thursday Night Football. After winning the first matchup, New York will know what Washington likes to do on offense and how they can contain Jayden Daniels in the pocket.
On offense, they should be able to control the clock through the run game. That can open up the passing game for potential big plays downfield. The Giants have performed historically well against Washington, and that will continue this year. They will sweep the Commanders and get back to above .500.
Prediction: Giants 31, Commanders 24
Record: 5-4
Week 11: Giants vs Jaguars
The Jaguars were one of the NFL’s biggest surprises last season. They finished with a 13-4 record and won the AFC South under first-year head coach Liam Coen. He helped quarterback Trevor Lawrence have the best season of his career. They are expected to compete for the division title once again in 2026.
They did lose a few key pieces in the offseason, though. Pro Bowl linebacker Devin Lloyd left for the Panthers in free agency, and 1,000-yard rusher Travis Etienne is gone as well. They do have a promising young running back in Bhayshul Tuten entering his sophomore season. Jacksonville also has Travis Hunter coming back as a full-time cornerback to bolster their secondary.
Most of the core talent is back, so the Jaguars should be a very good team again. Coen’s ability to scheme his receivers open will cause issues for Big Blue’s unproven secondary. They might not have the offensive firepower to keep up with a team like Jacksonville.
Prediction: Jaguars 31, Giants 21

Week 12: Giants vs Colts
The Giants play their second AFC South opponent in two weeks. They travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts and former Giant Daniel Jones. Before tearing his Achilles, Jones was having a career year. The Colts got off to a hot 8-2 start, and Jones guided one of the best offenses in the league through those first ten games.
Indy also has one of the best running backs in the league in Jonathan Taylor. He could have a monster game if New York’s run defense is as bad as last season. The Colts have plenty of other weapons the Giants’ defense will have to worry about. Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, and Tyler Warren all showed great chemistry with Jones in 2025.
The Colts are also getting All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner back this season. He is one of the best at his position and can take away one side of the field. Gardner could shut down Malik Nabers and force the secondary options to step up. In the end, the Colts will come out on top, and Daniel Jones will get revenge on his old team.
Prediction: Colts 30, Giants 25

Week 13: Giants vs 49ers
After falling below .500, Big Blue will look to bounce back at home against the 49ers. These teams met at MetLife Stadium last season, and San Francisco took that one 34-24. The 49ers do have a lot of injuries right now, so who knows how healthy they will be at this point in the year. Even so, head coach Kyle Shanahan has shown he can win games with his top players out of the lineup.
Backup quarterback Mac Jones made eight starts in 2025. The 49ers went 5-3 in those games. Shanahan will have all of his players ready to go. When healthy, Brock Purdy is an above-average quarterback and has a great supporting cast. Christian McCaffrey, Mike Evans, and George Kittle make one of the most dangerous offensive trios in the NFL.
The 49ers defense should also be great, as long as Nick Bosa and Fred Warner are on the field. When healthy, the 49ers are one of the most talented teams on paper. They also have one of the best coaches in the league who knows how to put his players in position to succeed. That combination of talent and coaching will give San Francisco the edge.
Prediction: 49ers 31, Giants 23

Week 14: Giants vs. Seahawks
The Giants are on a three-game losing streak and face another challenge in Week 14. They travel to Seattle to face the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks. Lumen Field is one of the toughest stadiums in the league to play in. It will be a big test for this young Giants team.
A major reason why Seattle won the championship was a dominant defense. They allowed the fewest points per game last season and return most of that unit. On offense, they are led by quarterback Sam Darnold and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year. A stingy defense and home-field advantage give Seattle the clear edge in this battle.
Prediction: Seahawks 27, Giants 17

Week 15: Giants vs Browns
This is where New York’s four-game losing streak should end. They face the Browns at home, who won only five games last season. Vegas has their win total at just five and a half games heading into the upcoming season. Cleveland’s quarterback situation is one of the worst in the league. Deshaun Watson was named the starter for Week 1, but they could turn to Shedeur Sanders at this point in the year.
Whoever is under center for the Browns shouldn’t strike fear into the Giants’ defense. Cleveland had one of the worst offensive lines in the league, and their receivers are young but unproven. Big Blue’s defensive line should be able to get multiple sacks and put pressure on the quarterback. Cleveland’s defense will also be worse without reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett.
The Giants bounce back and get back in the win column.
Prediction: Giants 27, Browns 16
Record: 6-8
Week 16: Giants vs Lions
After that win, the Giants head to Detroit for their final primetime game of 2026. These teams met in Detroit last season, and that game was a thriller. New York had a lead late in the game, but the defense couldn’t hold on, and it went to overtime. The Lions came out on top, 34-27.
Star running back Jahmyr Gibbs went off for 219 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He had the game-winning 69-yard touchdown run in overtime. If he goes for 200 yards again, the Giants won’t have much of a chance. The Lions also have great receivers like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, who can beat a defense over the middle as well as deep downfield.
This game has the potential to be a shootout, but the Giants will come up short.

Week 17: Giants vs Cowboys
The last time these teams met in Dallas was an exciting, high-scoring affair. The Giants offense put up 37 points, but that wasn’t enough to get the win. New York had the lead with under a minute to go, but couldn’t stop Dallas from getting into field goal range and tying the game. The Cowboys ended up stealing this game in overtime, 40-37.
This time around, the Giants have more talent on defense and a better coaching staff. That should help them learn how to hold onto leads late in games and get key defensive stops when needed. After their first matchup, they will adjust their game plan to slow down Dallas’ offense. Big Blue will get their first win at AT&T Stadium since 2016.

Week 18: Giants vs Eagles
The Giants end the 2026 season at home against the Eagles. At this point in the year, Philly could have either the NFC East or their playoff seeding locked up. Therefore, they could rest a lot of their starters as they get ready for the postseason.
The Giants handle the Eagles’ backups with ease and finish the season with two wins in a row. John Harbaugh ends his first season in New York on a positive note.
Prediction: Giants 27, Eagles 23

Final Take
Predicting the Giants to go 8-9 is realistic given their schedule. They have some tough road games against playoff-caliber teams like the Rams, Seahawks, Texans, and Lions. Big Blue was competitive with some good teams last year, so fans should be optimistic if they continue to do that in 2026, even if they don’t win every one of those games.
An 8-9 record won’t get them into the playoffs, but it would certainly be a step in the right direction given where they have been previously. A key factor for the Giants’ success is the growth of Jaxson Dart and other young players. If Dart makes the sophomore leap, the fans and organization can feel confident that they have their quarterback of the future going into 2027 and beyond.
