New Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane is reportedly keen to bring AmaZulu head coach Arthur Zwane into his technical team as a second assistant.

Mosimane was appointed as the new Bafana head coach last month after weeks of speculation surrounding the national team’s next coach.
This week, SAFA confirmed that Botswana national team head coach Morena Ramoreboli will join Mosimane’s technical team as an assistant. The other members of Jingles’ backroom staff are Musi Matlaba and Kabelo Rangoaga, as earlier reported by Siseko Gwegwe
Why Pitso Mosimane is keen on Zwane to Bafana
Mosimane has long been an admirer of Zwane’s coaching abilities.
Back in 2021, when Kaizer Chiefs suffered a 3-0 defeat to Mosimane’s Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League final, the Bafana coach reportedly felt Amakhosi could have fared better had Zwane been in charge instead of Stuart Baxter.
Zwane had played a key role in Chiefs’ run to the final, helping the club eliminate Wydad Casablanca in the semi-finals. However, Baxter took charge for the final, with Zwane moving into an assistant role.
A potential reunion with Pitso Mosimane at Bafana could also have an impact on the chances of several Kaizer Chiefs players breaking into the national team.
Zwane spent close to two decades at Naturena as both a player and coach, meaning he has extensive knowledge of the club and its young talent. His input could prove valuable when Mosimane considers players who can make the step up to international football.
During his time at Chiefs, Zwane has worked with the likes of Mfundo Vilakazi, Wandile Duba and Mduduzi Shabalala.
Pitso is expected to announce his first Bafana Bafana squad next week as preparations begin for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
